THE VENERATED NAME OF LYKES IS SOON TO TOTALLY DISAPPEAR FROM THE HIGH SEAS, IF NOT HISTORY – FOREVER. IT WAS SOLD FOREIGN LONG AGO AND IS BEING SCATTERED TO THE WINDS. 

MAERSK, THE DANISH SHIPPING GIANT THAT BOUGHT SEALAND IS SOON TO REMOVE "SEALAND" FROM "MAERSK SEALAND" NAME. SO MUCH FOR THE COMPANY THAT PUT CONTAINERIZATION ON THE MAP. IT'S GONE!

AMERICAN PRESIDENT LINES, NOW OWNED BY A SINGAPORE COMPANY, IS NO LONGER "AMERICAN PRESIDENT LINES," BUT MERELY "APL MARINE."

THOUGH A FEW SHIPS OF THESE COMPANIES REMAIN UNDER THE AMERICAN FLAG (THANKS STRICTLY TO THE $2  MILLION DOLLAR PLUS PER SHIP "MARITIME SECURITY FLEET" SUBSIDY),  FEW, IF ANY, WERE BUILT IN AMERICAN SHIPYARDS. MATSON (WHOSE TRADE HAS BEEN MAINLY DOMESTIC, AND SUBJECT TO THE JONES ACT) IS ABOUT THE ONLY TRADITIONAL AMERICAN SHIPPING COMPANY LEFT, AND THE ONLY ONE IN RECENT HISTORY TO ACTUALLY BUILD NEW CONTAINER SHIPS IN AN AMERICAN SHIPYARD.
BUT THE SHIPYARD ITSELF  IS NOW FOREIGN OWNED!! THUS THE SHIP BUILDING PROFITS GO TO THE FOREIGN COMPETITION.

THE MANAGEMENT OF MANY OF OUR NATION'S MAJOR SEAPORTS HAVE BEEN IN THE HANDS OF FOREIGN COMPANIES FOR SOME TIME. THE BRITISH P&O COMPANY, FOR EXAMPLE (BUT MANY OTHERS TOO). PEOPLE BECAME CONCERNED ONLY WHEN P&O HAD BEEN SOLD TO A STATE OWNED ARAB COMPANY BASED IN DUBAI.  BUT THE MANAGEMENT OF AMERICAN PORT FACILITIES BY ANY FOREIGN CORPORATION (WHETHER PRIVATE OR GOVERNMENT OWNED -- EUROPEAN, ASIAN, OR ARAB), IS A COOPTION OF AN A NATIONAL ASSET WITH BOTH SECURITY AND ECONOMIC IMPLICATIONS.

FOREIGN OWNERSHIP OR MANAGEMENT MEANS THAT MUCH OF THE PROFITS SUCH PORTS GENERATE ACCRUE TO THE FOREIGN COMPETITION.

NEVER MIND, THESE ARE THE REWARDS OF GLOBALISM. THIS HAS BECOME BUSINESS AS USUAL, AND AMERICA'S INDUSTRIAL AND STRATEGIC ASSETS ARE NOW TRADED INTERNATIONALLY LIKE SO MANY SACKS OF POTATOES OR PIGS OF IRON.

WHILE NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERNS COME UP FROM TIME TO TIME (AS IN THE DUBAI PORT MANAGEMENT DEAL), NOBODY SEEMS CONCERNED WITH THE OVERALL ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF FOREIGN OWNERSHIP, AND THE HUGE VOLUME OF MONEY THAT IS BEING SIPHONED OUT OF THE THE AMERICAN DOMESTIC ECONOMY -- EXACERBATING ALREADY OBSCENE BALANCE OF TRADE DEFICITS AND NATIONAL INDEBTEDNESS.

NOTHING SEEMS TO MATTER IN THIS NEW WORLD ORDER EXCEPT THE PROFITABILITY OF HUGE MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATIONS. AS LONG AS WALL STREET SEES ITS SHARE OF THOSE CORPORATE PROFITS, MAIN STREET AND AMERICAN LABOR CAN HANG OUT TO DRY!

ALL OF THIS, OF COURSE, IS THE RESULT OF A NATIONAL ECONOMIC POLICY GEARED TO BENEFIT INTERNATIONAL CAPITAL RATHER THAN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE CONCEPT OF GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE? THE VERY CONCEPT HAS BEEN PURGED FROM THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP WHICH NOW CLEARLY REPRESENTS WORLD CAPITAL RATHER THAN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. AND, OF COURSE, IT HAS BEEN DONE WITHOUT THE FULLY INFORMED CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.

WE THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY VOTED FOR NONE OF THIS. OUR LEADERS MERELY TAKE OUR PATRONIZATION OF WALMART AND OTHER GLOBAL BUSINESSES AS OUR VOTE FOR GLOBALISM AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER. BUT THIS IS AN EXERCISE IN A KIND OF BATE AND SWITCH DECEPTION -- PLACING THE "CONSUMER" AHEAD OF THE PRODUCER AND CALLING THAT "THE AMERICAN PEOPLE."

BUT WHEN THE CONSUMING PUBLIC IS NO LONGER ALSO THE PRODUCING PUBLIC, WE HAVE A PROBLEM SO FUNDAMENTAL THAT IT BEGS CREDIBILITY.

IN LIGHT OF THIS, IS OUR GOVERNMENT STILL OUR "LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT" -- OR HAS IT BEEN SUBVERTED AND COMMANDEERED BY POWERS TOTALLY ALIEN TO INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE?
