In Volume 28 Number 2, Springhouse includes a writeup about us  in  the Feb. 17 edition of Nightlife, an entertainment weekly published in Carbondale, Illinois Here is the last paragraph.

"Elsewhere, the Rebel Without Applause writes two great pieces--one exploring the effects of winter cold, and another about the tools and tolls of physical labor, at age eighty-five. Dixie Terry's column provides  recipes for warm soups that would salve even the Rebel's pained body, and Robert hill brings attention to Harlan Booten, a local baseball legend whose prodigious talent never took him to the Major Leagues because of obligations at home caused by the Great Depression and World War II."

Springhouse appreciates  the kind words.
     Our current issue includes more musings by the prolific Rebel Without Applause,  as well as more of Dixie's delicious recipes. As he has done since 1984, Kestner Wallace recalls an era all but forgotten. Meanwhile, archaeologists Mark J. Wagner and Mary R. McCorvie revisit the outlaws on the Illinois frontier, and Tom Martin shares with Springhouse readers poignant memories of his growing up in Shawneetown.
    These are but a few of the stories and articles found in Springhouse, Volume 28, Number 2.
